The annual ‘Puttin’ on the Dog’ Show and event takes place Saturday, September 20 in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, CT. This is one of the biggest and best pet adoption events in the area. It attracts 5000 visitors yearly and there are many adoption groups present with available dogs and cats as well as a dog show with 17 categories (biggest lap dog, clever k-9 tricks, etc.) that you can enter your dog in.
There will also be police demonstrations, celebrity judges, great food, clowns, children’s play area, silent auction, lots of pet vendor’s.
The park on the water in Greenwich on Arch St., right off of exit 3 on I-95, you can’t miss it.

Hartsdale Pet Cemetery conducts a War Dog Memorial Celebration every year in June to remember the service and sacrifice made by thousands of military canines and other service dogs including police and fire dogs, seeing eye and hearing dogs, balance dogs and therapy dogs. The tradition began decades ago when a World War II veteran of the Battle of the Bulge whose name is unknown returned to the cemetery every Memorial Day to place a wreath at base of the memorial.
Hartsdale continues that tradition at the War Dog Memorial Celebration. In addition, Hartsdale hosts a guest speaker and conducts a pet adoption fair with The Shelter Pet Alliance.

The Stratford Animal Rescue Society is looking for vendors and sponsors of all types for their annual “Fall Festival To Benefit Animals” on Sunday, October 11, at Paradise Green in Stratford. Rain date is Sunday, October 18.
The festival runs from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and includes a one mile dog walk, food, contests, canine demonstrations, games, music, local celebrities, entertainment, pet adoptions, a silent auction, vendors for people and pets and more.
