Rylee, a 10-month-old Belgian Malinois, was reunited with his family after falling out of a boat. A dog swam more than 6 miles and walked a dozen more to find his family after falling overboard into Lake Michigan. Edward Casas was boating on the lake with his wife, Kristin, and the family dog, a 10-month-old Belgian Malinois named Rylee. Casas tells ABC News Rylee went overboard while he was in the engine room trying to figure out a mechanical problem with the boat and his wife was steering.
Casas says he sent out a mayday call on the radio and was connected to a volunteer group that searches for lost dogs. The next morning, someone spotted Rylee going into a nearby campground. Edward Casas says there was a lot of sobbing and hugging when the family was reunited with him.
Girl Scouts Hosted Open Houses at Pet Rescue To Help Homeless Cats & Kittens
Girl Scouts Troop #2896 hosted their third “Girl Scouts Crafts and Reading Open House”. The first two open houses were enormously successful and brought many visitors, big and small, to Pet Rescue’s newly renovated Kitty Cottage.
Chloe Kardoggian is a senior Chihuahua who promotes dog adoption and fostering, and is a big supporter of our Fospice program. Thanks to Chloe and her mama Dorie, PetSmart sponsored a social media fundraiser for Fospice, to save more terminally ill and geriatric shelter dogs. You can help by commenting on one of Chloe’s kissing-booth photos on Instagram with a bunch of kissy-face emojis. She’s hoping to raise $5,000 to continue saving Fospice dogs throughout the year.
